Micro Lua DS

Micro Lua DS

Well it appears that DSLua is just about dead. Sypherce hasn't checked in code to DSLua 0.8 in over a year, and no one has released a DSLua project in almost a year.

Now there's a new Lua Player for DS, called Micro Lua DS created by risike. It has many more features than DSLua (see the documentation) such as different fonts, keyboard, debug mode, image drawing, scaling, rotating, tinting, and more.

The homepage, with downloads, French tutorials, documentation, and forums, is here: http://microlua.risike.com/

Cid2Mizard has just released Jetfighter 0.1 on dev-fr.org (click here for his post). Here is my translation of his post:

"Here I am putting online my first release of Jetfighter, coded in Lua. In this release, you can only move the 2 jets on their respective screens with some rather cool music. Use the D-Pad to control one of them and A, B, X, and Y to control the other one. I had to withdraw shooting, because of some problems with the code; when I drew with one, I blocked the other, lol. This problem will be solved in the next release."

Go to the link for the download (GBFS version only, apparently.)

Japanese font and text entry

Jeremysr found a cool Japanese website (by Ken Hashimoto if I am not mistaken) with some DSLua script to display Japanese font and allow Japanese text entry. Pretty cool! Read more about it in Jeremysr's post...
