My, in my personal opinion, best idea yet. It is not currently quite equipped to work, but it should be soon. DSLua doesn't support TCP/IP yet, but when it does... InteROM! My great idea is that everyone can use InteROM to broadcast their own ROMs on the internet! From homebrew to commercial, InteROM will work like this:

1. The ROM(s) is(are) gathered on a computer (Windows XP preferred, but back to 98SE will work with my host)

2. With a program I make, you can upload to a server. I will probably pay for a real big server.

3. When uploaded, get the InteROM ROM to your DS. Click Connect to find a list of ROMs on server.

4. I will, of course, add a search feature. So search to find your ROM

5. Choose it on your DS and it will run. Woohoo. What an idea.

If waruwaru or Ohr Gmbh wants to help me, I'd really appreciate that.

Also, due to the fact that this will probably be popular, I may have to make ROM hosting temporary. As in, maybe a 30 day limit to a ROM. You can upload all yeh want, but all yer ROMs will be deleted 30 days after they are uploaded.

I'd appreciate help. (And maybe TCP/IP support in the next DSLua release!)

Your idea is very good and I had some sort of download n' play on my TODO list already.  So, don't worry, I havn't forgotten it yet.

And hopefully when you say "ROM", you just mean home-brewed application/DSLua scripts.  No piracy talk please.

There are currently a couple server/transferring program (Bafio and there is a TFTP server for DS) available right now.  Those can be used if you want something right now.

Thanks,
Waruwaru

Oh yeah, sorry for the Double Post (is that bad here  Huh), but by ROMS, like I said, unfortunately, means homebrew and pirated. Sorry for the pirate talk, but I don't see how to fix that. Someone, somewhere will upload a commercial ROM sometime, and how can I stop it? It could be disguised in so many ways, and there are so many versions...  Undecided

If you have an idea to stop pirating on my InteROM server, drop it by me. And thanks again for the Bafio link. OH YEAH!

End Transmission. Don't kill me  Grin

That is true, but I don't want it that way, either. There are many other code languages I want to use (PALib, devkitpro, NDSLib, etc.) for this, and most languages need either nds files or many many files (use devkitpro and tell me how many files you have!  Undecided  Shocked

I still need nds files, soooo... next!  Grin

So, set a limit size for .nds file, the minimum size for comercial ROM is 8Mo.

I dont know homebrew which is more fat than 8Mo, no ?

Wow, thanks. Now THAT'S a good idea!  Grin

Only thing is, that may be temporary. Cuz if homebrew starts using videos and complex 3d stuff, it'll get bigger. But it'll last for a good while.  Smiley
