I just tried DSLua today for the first time with the snowball game and some of the other examples and it is amazing! You can do so many things with DSLua. I know next to nothing when it comes to coding, I have done some VB stuff but I don't even totally know C++ yet. I wanted to develop a homebrew game and I was wondering how easy it is to make Lua scripts. I looked at some of the Lua files and the code doesn't seem that complex. Do you think a total n00b like me could use DSLua?

Hello there,

Welcome!  The language Lua is designed to be simple to use, so it's probably a bit easier to learn than C/C++. Smiley  Right now, DSLua isn't as friendly as VB, and you have to know a little about some game programming concepts (tiles/sprites/resource-conversion..etc).  But I am working on making it simpler in the future.  Feel free to give it a try, and post your questions and comments if you have any. Smiley

Have fun!

Hey guys, you just gave me a new idea! From this point on, my DSLUA compiler/debugger/editor will be capable of Easy-Build, which will be very similar to VB! Of course, I'll still include the classical version.  Roll Eyes

I understand concepts like sprites, tiles, etc. I have used many game creation programs in the past. So I guess I might as well give DSLua a try.

I have to agree. DSLua is great.

It already has quite a comprehensive set of functions, I can't wait to see where you guys are going with it...
