Title: DSLua Collaboration Post by: jester on October 27, 2006, 08:12:10 PM I think we should gather some DSLua coders and create one game or a program that is unique :D
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: daltonlaffs on October 28, 2006, 11:27:55 AM Like a game where you poke a bomb to light the fuse which is eaten by a fish in a waterfall in a crater on mars? ???
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: jester on October 28, 2006, 03:01:43 PM lol never mind then
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: daltonlaffs on October 28, 2006, 03:39:34 PM No, no! I think it's a good idea... I was just joking (aint it obvious?)
Seriously, though..... what kind of game? Maybe something similar to Warioware Touched -- a bunch of DS microgames, we can all make them! Just 10-second-style minigames that use what DSLua already can! ;D And we can have 10 games run per compilation for starters... *goes off to make this idea work* :P Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: Jeremysr on October 28, 2006, 03:48:47 PM Yeah that's a great idea, we'll need lots of ideas for games, lol...
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: jester on October 28, 2006, 07:06:29 PM yeah ok we should make it work so lets gather some coders and set up a IRC so thing so we can all talk about what kind of minigames or we could still use the forum
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: Jeremysr on October 28, 2006, 07:40:34 PM Daltonlaffs has a chatroom on his site -> http://daltonlaffs.bravehost.com
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: jester on October 29, 2006, 05:47:18 AM cool i think we should hold this off till DSLua version 0.0 (daltonlaffs revision) has come out
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: daltonlaffs on October 29, 2006, 08:32:47 AM I am almost done with the shell, should be done sometime today or tomorrow... I have officially named it 'DSLuaWare: Poked!'... even a cool logo image! ;D
All the minigames will take place on the bottom screen. More info to come, as soon as I finish it! Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: Jeremysr on October 29, 2006, 02:27:12 PM How does "the shell" work? Will it be easy to add/remove/change mini-games? How will you let "the shell" know what mini-games are present?
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: daltonlaffs on October 29, 2006, 02:44:29 PM The shell is like a Warioware: Touched! Gameset (for example, in 8-volt's games, you see a Nintendo-themed shell between games). It will be extremely easy to add/remove/change minigames, I made sure of that. You let it know what minigames are present by changing the minigame require(game) values in userinput.lua.
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: jester on October 31, 2006, 02:51:59 PM well i think we should halt this project till your new version of DSlua is out daltonlaffs since my game kinda depends on it now since i have the art for the wifi i want in my game
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: daltonlaffs on October 31, 2006, 04:08:35 PM For now, just continue with your development... you can always do Wifi after you finish Story Mode ;D
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: Jeremysr on October 31, 2006, 04:38:14 PM Can I see the shell? I want to work on it too...
And see exactly how to make the mini-games. They won't be seperate right? Maybe at the end of the require()'d game it will have a points variable that is set, that the shell uses to add to the total points Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: brennan on November 03, 2006, 07:40:12 PM I did reg #dslua on blitzed (irc.blitzed.org) quite a while ago, I just never told anyone. Get ahold of me on MSN/AIM/IRC and I'll op you..
EDIT: here, i set up a pjIRC java client. http://brennan.amidal.com/lua/chat/ Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: jester on September 16, 2007, 12:11:03 PM Sorry to reopen this but I still believe its a brilliant idea! A fighting Engine with new original characters would make us famous!
Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: daltonlaffs on September 16, 2007, 06:30:49 PM Ah, I remember this. You're bringing up my DSLuaWare idea again, eh?
As sad as I am to say it, however, the old mare of DSLua seems to be down. It's got too many bugs. Sy is working on a new version of DSLua (sorry if I wasn't supposed to say that ^^), which will not use PALib, so let's pray that will bring the hope back. Title: Re: DSLua Collaboration Post by: jester on September 17, 2007, 04:52:45 PM I collaboration between many dslua coders on one project will be brilliant. ;D
