Allright. Total noob, just followed the 1st how-to tutorial on here to the letter.

I'm using Dualis, Crimson Editor and DSlua.

When I launch my Hello World, I get a selection screen. The only options are GBFS and SRAM. when I select either, it brings me to a "..." screen, instead of the Hello world.

When launched, Dualis shows that bundle/DSLua-Pack.NDS is loaded.

Is there a step I'm missing? I've searched through the topics for this problem and the two I found, didn't resolve my issue. I've tried both Dualis and DeSmuME, both react the same, making me think I did something wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Let's make things simple:

1) In the PC
- Put the hello.lua and DSLua.nds in the same directory
- Run Dualis and load DSLua.nds
- Select CF (instead of sdram) and you should see a list of the directory contents, hello.lua amongst them
- Select hello.lua and run it

Notes:
- If you run in real hardware you should use DSLua.ds.gba instead of DSLua.nds
- You do not need to use pack.bat for CF cards (such as the M3-CF I use).
- I had problems with DSLua recognizing directories in Windows when long names or special character (such as space) are used. If the directory displays not contents in DSLUa when you select CF and you know files are there, you better use something like "c:\lua\" that will work for sure.

Much appreciated! Switching to the Cf version fixed everything.

Well, Angor, that is if you want to use the cf version of DSLua. GBFS is better for hardware testing, and also meant to be the one used with emulators. In order to use GBFS:

1. Put your scripts and everything they need (images, palettes, other scripts, etc.) in the scripts folder.

2. Run PACK.BAT. This will put your stuff into the DSLUA-PACK.nds and DSLUA-PACK.ds.gba files. Then, in an emulator, select GBFS and click on a script! Cheers!  Wink

Hmm...I always had the GBFS version for dualis and always thought that the CF version was for hardware because when I get my Passcard3 I will use my GBAMP for developing, and it uses compact flash cards (CF cards).

I assume is a matter of taste... Both should work fine. I have always used without problems the CF version of DSLua for both testing on emulator (Dualis + Windows + PC) and hardware (NDS + M3-CF)
